Two Games, Two Wins For The Coachella Valley Firebirds Hockey Team

The Coachella Valley Firebirds have opened their inaugural season with a 6 to 5 win in Calgary, followed by a 3 to 1 win in their 2nd game in Calgary against the Wranglers.

On Sunday October 16th, Kole Lind had 2 goals to lead the Firebirds.  Jesper Froden had a goal and 2 assists.

The Firebirds scored just seven minutes into the first period.


On Monday night October 17th, the Firebirds scored 2 goals in the opening period, and never looked back.

They added a goal in the 2nd period, and held off the Wranglers.

Once again Kole Lind and Jesper Froden had goals for the Firebirds. Ville Petman scored the 3rd Coachella Valley goal.

Goalie Joey Daccord picked up his 2nd win of the season, as he faced 25 shots, and stopped 24 of them.


The Firebirds play in Seattle on Friday October 21st 2022 against the Abbotsford Canucks, at the Kraken Community Iceplex. Puck drop is slated for 3pm PT.    

Sunday October 23rd,  the Firebirds play the Canucks again at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle at 6 p-m PT.
