Traffic Moving Slowly Along I-10 Eastbound Near Desert Center

Fri  Aug 26th 2022 4:30 a-m

On Wednesday August 24th, 2022, at 6:40 p-m a portion of Interstate 10 was completely washed out due to heavy rain and inclement weather, leaving the eastbound side impassable, east of Corn Springs Road.

The California Department of Transportation  along with the California Highway Patrol, worked throughout the night and an alternate route has been established.

Traffic is now being diverted onto a portion of eastbound Interstate 10 which was previously under construction, around the affected area.

Eastbound traffic can now detour using this single lane, with a posted speed limit of 25 MPH.

The main traveled portion of eastbound Interstate 10 will continue to be repaired, with the goal of reopening all lanes as soon as possible.
