Today is the 40th Anniversary of John Lennon’s Death

Today, December 8, marks the 40th anniversary of the murder of John Lennon. December 8, 1980, Lennon was entering his home in Manhattan when obsessed fan, Mark David Chapman, shot and killed the Beatle. Lennon had turned 40 on October 9th, 1980.

Lennon had finished work on a recording, according to producer Jack Douglas. He had previously taken a five-year break from recording.
