The Evolution of the Old-Fashioned

It’s hard to pick an all-time favorite cocktail, but when it comes to bourbon, I love an old-fashioned.  Little did I know that it came with an illustrious history. Here’s a cool video showing the evolution of the drink with 5 different incarnations.  I prefer the Mid-Century version a la Don Draper 🙂

The Mid-Century Old-Fashioned

1 wedge of Orange

2 Maraschino Cherries

2 oz. -or- 60 ml. Bourbon

2 Dashes Angostura Bitters

Muddle fruit and drink together

Bury in cracked ice and stir
