New research suggests that the symptoms of COVID-19 can last much longer than initially thought.

A study published by the British Medical Journal found that many patients continued to battle symptoms for months after their diagnosis.

The most common symptoms to persist include aches and pains and a loss of smell – suggesting that COVID can do long-term vascular damage even after the patient recovers.
