RivCo Covid-19 Hospitalizations At 6 Month Low; Active Cases Increase Slightly

As of Wednesday September 30th 2020; Stats are through Monday September 28th  2020

 

California has tested 14,613,545 of its 40 million people for the Covid-19 virus, since March 2020.  That’s 36.53% of the population.

 

25,386,455 people still need to be tested in California, that’s 63.46% of the state’s population.

 

5.52% of the people tested for Covid-19 in California have tested positive. That’s 807,425 people.

 

94.47% of the people tested for Covid-19 in California have tested negative.  That’s 13,806,120 people.

 

California has 15,640 deaths from Covid-19, which is 1.93% of those who have tested positive.

 

California hospitals report 3/10th’s of 1% of the people who have tested positive, are hospitalized, which is 3,223 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the hospitals. 828 of those patients are in ICU.

Riverside County stats as of Wednesday morning September 30th 2020, are through Monday September 28th 2020

 

Riverside County has tested 646,560 people for Covid-19 since March 2020, out of a population of 2.5 million.  That’s 25.86% of the County’s population.

 

1,853,440 people still need to be tested in the county, that’s 74.13% of the county’s population.

 

9.15% of the people tested for Covid-19, have tested positive. That’s 59,173 people.

 

90.84% of the people tested for Covid-19 in Riverside County have tested negative.  That’s 587,387 people.

 

Of the 59,173 people who have tested positive in Riverside County,

91.51% of them, 54,150, have fully recovered.

6.22% of them, 3,682 are at home recovering. Together, that’s 97.73% of all the positive cases.

 

2/10th’s of 1%, of the people who have tested positive so far in Riverside County, 125 people, remain hospitalized, and 33 of them are in Intensive Care.

 

2% of the people who have tested positive so far in Riverside County, 1,216 people, have died from Covid-19. 345 of those deaths have been in the Coachella Valley, which is 28.37% of the County’s total. 313 deaths in cities, 32 deaths in unincorporated areas…9 in Mecca,  1 in Vista Santa Rosa, 3 in Bermuda Dunes, 4 in Garnet, 3 in Desert Palms, 5 in Desert Edge, 4 in Oasis, 2 in Sky Valley and 1 in North Shore.

 

Of the 1,216 people who have died from Covid-19 in Riverside County, 847 of them have been over 64; 308 have been between 45 and 64.

 

14,574 positive cases have been recorded in the Coachella Valley since March 8th 2020, when the testing and counting began. 94.34% of them, 13,750 people, have recovered. Only 824 active cases in the desert on 9/30/2020.

 

1,955 cases are in unincorporated areas of the desert since March 2020.

(Mecca 453 cases, Thermal 185 cases, Oasis 332 cases,  North Shore 135 cases, Bermuda Dunes 137 cases, Thousand Palms 227 cases, Vista Santa Rosa 99 cases, Garnet 225 cases, Desert Palms 45 cases, Desert Edge 68 cases, and Sky Valley 49 cases)

 

93.70%, or 1,832 people have recovered from Covid-19 in unincorporated areas:

Mecca 420, Thermal 172, Oasis 321, North Shore 125, Bermuda Dunes 127,

Thousand Palms 222, Vista Santa Rosa 90, Garnet 213, Desert Palms 40, Desert Edge 58, Sky Valley 44

Only 123 active cases of Covid-19 in unincorporated areas as of 9/30/2020.

 

12,619 Covid-19 cases reported in cities in the desert, since March 2020.

94.44% of those people, 11,918, people have recovered. Only 701 active Covid-19 cases in cities in the Coachella Valley as of 9/30/2020.

There are no deaths from Covid-19 for anyone from newborn to age 17.

deaths among people aged 18-24.

54 deaths among people aged 25-44

308 deaths among people aged 45-64

575 deaths among people aged 64-84

272 deaths among people aged 85 and up.

 

715 deaths are men, 496 are women, and 0 are transgender, non-binary or intersex according to county officials

 

Riverside County has 3,396 cases in nursing homes, with 2,097 cases among patients, and 1,299 cases among staff. The overwhelming majority of nursing home cases, 921 cases, are in the City of Riverside.

In Coachella Valley nursing facilities, there have been 192 cases in Palm Desert, 138 in Palm Springs, 77 in Rancho Mirage, 57 in Indio, 53 in La Quinta,

Drive-thru testing is available by appointment only at the Riverside County Fairgrounds in Indio  from 9 a-m to 3 p-m Tuesday through Saturday, by appt only. You can also get tested at the Cathedral City Library on Date Palm Drive. Rite Aid is doing Covid-19 testing by appointment for people 18 years of age or older, regardless of whether the person is experiencing symptoms. Results are expected in three to five days.

 

The Coachella Valley locations providing testing starting Thursday July 16th 2020 are:

 

 12900 Palm Drive, Desert Hot Springs;

— 51101 Cesar Chavez St., Coachella;

— 47985 Monroe St., Building A, Indio; 

 

The sites will utilize self-swab nasal tests overseen by Rite Aid pharmacists, and will operate weekdays from 10 a.m to 8 p.m., and weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 

Patients must provide government-issued ID, and register online at www.riteaid.com to schedule an appointment.
