Reconstruction On Thousand Palms Canyon Road Is On Schedule

Reconstruction continues on Thousand Palms Canyon Road and is on schedule to be finished by September 14th 2022

 

Contractor Matich Corporation is repaving the road.

 

The Riverside County Transportation Department is fixing the whole 4 mile stretch of the road between Thousand Palms, Indio Hills and Sky Valley.

 

Along with repaving the road, rumble strips and bicycle lanes are being added.

 

Thousand Palms Canyon Road remains open to traffic during the construction,  but there is a reduced speed limit.  Use caution as work crews  are out there working in triple digit heat.

 

At times, there is just one lane open, with flag operators controlling traffic.
