Plenty Of Road Work In Palm Desert

Construction is starting on Monday, June 15th on Alessandro Alley between San Marco Avenue and Las Palmas Avenue in Palm Desert.

The project runs through November 4th, 2020, with work scheduled each day from 6 a-m to 4 p-m.

The work includes utility relocation, asphalt reconstruction, irrigation, and landscape planting.

Delays and difficulty accessing portions of the street are expected.

Monterey Avenue in Palm Desert will be reduced to one lane in each direction for approximately one mile between Gran Via (the Whitewater Channel Bridge) and Country Club Drive beginning Monday, June 15th, and continuing for several months between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The lane closures are part of a joint project to repave Monterey Avenue by the cities of Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage.

The project goes through September 2020.

Delays are expected and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes such as Portola Avenue.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction and eastbound traffic shifted to the other side of the road on a portion of Country Club Drive from just east of Portola Avenue and extending about 2,500 feet east past the entrances to Manor Care and Marriott – The Estates.

The traffic shift and lane closures, which will occur between the hours of 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday, June 15, through Wednesday, June 17, will allow workers to install electrical conduit under the roadway for an adjacent development.

Motorists are encouraged to allow extra time or avoid the area and use alternate routes such as Frank Sinatra Drive and Hovley Lane East.
