Palm Springs Hires New Police Chief; Nationwide Search Led To Santa Cruz CA

The City of Palm Springs has finished scouring the country, and has hired a new Police Chief.

 

He’s Andrew Mills, and the city found him in Santa Cruz, California, several hours up the coast from the Coachella Valley, on the coast, well north of the San Francisco Bay Area.

 

Mills has been Chief of Police there since 2017.

 

Before getting that job, he spent 4 years as Police Chief in Eureka, on the coast, well north of the San Francisco Bay Area.

 

Chief Mills started his law enforcement career in San Diego in 1983.

 

He’ll take over as Palm Springs Police Chief in early November 2021.
