Palm Springs Announces CA Allowing Riverside County To Loosen Lockdowns, Move Into Red Tier, More Businesses Can Open

The State of California has advised Riverside County it has been approved to open more
businesses and move from the COVID-19 purple (widespread) tier — to the red (substantial)
tier, thanks to a steady decline in coronavirus case numbers.

The red (substantial) tier allows for the following:

• Critical infrastructure, open with modifications.
• Limited services, such as carwashes and landscapers, open with modifications.
• Hair salons and barbershops, open indoors with modifications
• NEW: All retail, open indoors with modifications, maximum 50% capacity.
• NEW: Shopping Centers (Malls, Destination Centers, Swap Meets) open indoors
with modifications, including maximum 50% capacity, closed common areas,
reduced capacity food courts
• NEW: Personal Care Services, open indoors with modifications
• NEW: Museums, Zoos, and Aquariums, open indoors with modifications, including
indoor activities with maximum 25% capacity.
• NEW: Places of Worship, open indoors with modifications, including maximum 25%
capacity or 100 people, whichever is fewer.
• NEW: Movie Theaters, open indoors with modifications, including maximum 25%
capacity or 100 people, whichever is fewer.
• NEW: Hotels and lodging, open with modifications, including + fitness centers (+10).
• NEW: Gyms and Fitness Centers, open indoors with modifications, including
maximum 10% capacity.
• NEW: Restaurants, open indoors with modifications, including maximum 25%
capacity or 100 people, whichever is fewer.
• Wineries, outdoor only with modifications

• Bars, Breweries, and Distilleries, (where no meal is provided), CLOSED.
• Family Entertainment Centers, e.g. kart racing, mini golf, batting cages, outdoor
only with modifications.
• Cardrooms, Satellite Wagering, outdoor only with modifications
• Offices, REMOTE.
• Professional Sports, open without live audiences with modifications.

Counties must remain at each tier for a minimum of 21 days before moving to the next tier.
Schools may reopen for in-person instruction on a widespread basis (without a waiver)
once a county is in the red tier for at least two weeks.
