Oops! Fake Cop Conducts Traffic Stop On Real Deputy
A man impersonating a Colorado police officer met his match over the weekend when he conducted a traffic stop — and found a real sheriff’s deputy behind the wheel.
Jose Floris Ortiz was driving a car equipped with red and blue police lights when he brake-checked the Adams County Sheriff’s deputy, forcing him onto the shoulder of Interstate 76, according to Brighton Police Department rep Kylynn Delohery.
He then walked up to the deputy’s window and flashed a badge at the deputy, who, in return, showed Ortiz his gun, Delohery says.
The fake cop is now a real inmate in Adams County Jail, where he’s facing charges related to impersonating a police officer, per Delohery.
