More than 150 high school students who will take their first classes at Cal State in Palm Desert in the Fall of 2022.
They attended a first-year orientation event on June 22nd 2022.

Presentations covered topics such as academic integrity and student conduct, financial aid and scholarships, academic advising and registering for classes.
Students enjoyed lunch on campus and attended a resource fair highlighting the many services and programs available to them at the campus.
Yzell Gutierrez, a graduate of Beaumont High School, moved to Palm Desert to attend PDC.
“I chose to come to the Palm Desert Campus because it was recommended to me by my family, and I now live nearby. I also chose to attend PDC because of the affordability,” said Gutierrez. “It means a lot to me to attend PDC because I’m a first-generation student, so it makes my parents proud and I’m going to accomplish more things. I am most looking forward to getting accepted into the nursing program because they have a good nursing program here.”
