Mercedes-Benz To Go All-Electric By 2030

Mercedes-Benz is the latest automaker to announce plans to go all-electric.

The luxury brand’s parent company, Daimler, plans to invest $47 billion to develop battery-powered vehicles, including the construction of eight new battery plants.

CEO Ola Kallenius says that all new vehicles will be electric by the year 2025, and that the company will be “dominantly, if not all electric” by  2030.

A number of luxury carmakers have made similar promises in recent months, including Bentley, Cadillac, Jaguar, and Lotus.
