Nail salon owners around Los Angeles are demanding Governor Gavin Newsom allow them to reopen.
They’ve signed a petition after Newsom announced the first case of community spread of COVID-19 from a nail salon.
As of May 8th, 2020, the Governor is pushing forward with Phase 2 of his four-phase restart of the economy.
As florists and sporting goods stores and jewelers start to reopen, nail salons and barbershops and beauty salons are still being ordered to stay closed.
Those personal care services facilities won’t be allowed to reopen until Phase 3 or 4 of the reopening, and there is no time frame as to when that will be.
