The City of Indio, in partnership with the Indio Chamber of Commerce, is proud to announce
the 2020 Indio Celebration of Lights contest, a festive way to encourage and inspire those in
Indio to spread holiday cheer through lighting displays at their homes and businesses.

“We are so fortunate to be able to showcase our city over the holidays in this safe, and
inventive way,” said Indio Mayor Glenn Miller. “We hope the Celebration of Lights contest will
also brighten people’s spirits, as well as their homes and businesses.”

All City of Indio residents and businesses are encouraged to participate and showcase their
holiday spirit with unique and personalized holiday lighting displays.  Participating homes and
commercial properties will be eligible for cash prizes and trophies presented by the Indio
Chamber of Commerce.  A total of $8,000 in prize money is available.  Trophies and $2,000 in
prize money will be awarded to a winner in each of the following categories:

 Mayor’s Award – Best Residential Holiday Lighting Display
 Indio Chamber of Commerce Award – Most Creative Residential Holiday Lighting Display
 People’s Choice Award – Best Residential Holiday Lighting Display
 Commercial Holiday Award – Best Commercial Holiday Lighting Display

To be eligible to win, contestants must submit a video of their lighting display for review and
public sharing, along with an online entry form. Video length should not exceed 2 minutes.
Audio (narration/music) on the video is optional.

The last day to submit your video and online entry form is Friday, Dec. 11 by 5:00 p.m.

Contest winners will be notified via email on Dec. 21.

Public announcements will be made via digital and social media outlets on Dec. 22. Entry is
free.

Participants will have their videos displayed across social media and digital platforms.  For
