Hertz Will Soon Offer Electric Cars

Car-rental giant Hertz has signed a deal with Swedish electric carmaker Polestar for 65-thousand new electric vehicles over the next five years.

Though Polestar is a Volvo company based in Sweden, the parent company is China’s carmaker Geely.

Hertz is planning to offer the Polestar 2 EV to renters in Europe immediately, and will rollout the car to American and Australian consumers by the end of 2022.

While Hertz works towards building one of the largest rental EV fleets in the world, Polestar says the deal is in part about introducing its electric cars to new, potential customers.
