The Electric Light Orchestra has returned in a big way. “From Out of Nowhere” has become the legendary group’s first number one album in the UK in nearly 40 years. Technically, ELO last topped the UK’s Official Albums Chart in 2016 with “All Over the World: The Very Best Of.” However, the last time the Jeff Lynne-led band hit the top spot with an album of new material was 1981, when “Time” became an international best-seller. Over the years, the members of ELO have dwindled to the point where Lynne is the last man standing. He performs all the instruments and vocals on “From Out of Nowhere.” Given his accomplishments, should Jeff Lynne be a bigger star than he is? What’s your favorite project that he’s been involved in?
