Disney Laying Off 28-Thousand Workers In SoCal

With its Southern California theme parks forced to close by the government, Disney is laying off 28-thousand employees due to prolonged coronavirus closures.

The layoffs will come from across its parks, experiences, and consumer products divisions.

Disney’s head of parks, Josh D’Amaro, said approximately two-thirds of the workers are part-time employees.

The company’s shares fell less than two percent at the closing bell on Wall Street Tuesday.
