As Economy Reopens, People Mingle, Testing Increases; Covid-19 Cases On The Rise
Riverside County has 12,467 positive cases of Covid-19, as of Friday morning June 19th, 2020, an increase of 516 in the past 24 hours.
3,413 cases are in the Coachella Valley, an increase of 224 cases in 24 hours.
2,986 of those are in cities, an increase of 204 cases in the past day.
427 cases are in unincorporated areas of the desert:

There have been 408 deaths linked to Covid-19 in Riverside County as of Friday, June 19th, 2020. 174 are women, 234 are men
100 of those deaths are in the Coachella Valley.

In Riverside County, 2% of the people testing positive are in the hospital.
3% of the people testing positive have died.
94% of the people testing positive have either recovered fully, or are at home recovering, needing no medical assistance at this time, and in some cases, having no symptoms of any kind.
Riverside County has 1,590 cases in nursing homes, with 997 cases among patients, and 593 cases among staff. The overwhelming majority of cases are in the City of Riverside.
In Coachella Valley nursing facilities, there have been 63 cases in Palm Desert, 45 in Rancho Mirage…27 patients and 15 staff from Vista Cove Assisted Living in Rancho Mirage and another 12 patients and 4 staff at Rancho Mirage Terrace, 42 cases in Indio, 42 in Palm Springs and 19 in La Quinta.
All testing is free to the patient being tested.
Drive-thru testing is available by appointment only at the Riverside County Fairgrounds in Indio from 9 a-m to 3 p-m Tuesday through Saturday, by appt only. You can also get tested at the Cathedral City Library on Date Palm Drive. Call 800-945-6171 to make an appointment, and you no longer need to have symptoms to schedule a test.
