California has tested 14,333,498 of its 40 million people for the Covid-19 virus, since March 2020.  That’s 35.83% of the population.

 

25,666,052 people still need to be tested in California, that’s 64.16% of the state’s population.

 

5.59% of the people tested for Covid-19 in California have tested positive. That’s 802,308 people.

 

94.40% of the people tested for Covid-19 in California have tested negative.  That’s 13,531,190 people.

 

California has 15,587 deaths from Covid-19, which is 1.94% of those who have tested positive.

 

California hospitals report 3/10th’s of 1% of the people who have tested positive, are hospitalized, which is 3,129 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the hospitals. 892 of those patients are in ICU.

Riverside County stats as of Monday morning September 28th 2020, are through Friday September 25th 2020

 

Riverside County has tested 629,887 people for Covid-19 since March 2020, out of a population of 2.5 million.  That’s 25.19% of the County’s population.

 

1,870,113 people still need to be tested in the county, that’s 74.08% of the county’s population.

 

9.23% of the people tested for Covid-19, have tested positive.

That’s 58,178 people.

 

90.76% of the people tested for Covid-19 in Riverside County have tested negative.  That’s 571,709 people.

 

 

 

Of the 58,178 people who have tested positive in Riverside County,

91.80% of them, 53,409, have fully recovered.

5.90% of them, 3,438 are at home recovering. Together, that’s 97.70% of all the positive cases.

 

2/10th’s of 1%, of the people who have tested positive so far in Riverside County, 142 people, remain hospitalized, and 39 of them are in Intensive Care.

 

2% of the people who have tested positive so far in Riverside County, 1,189 people, have died from Covid-19. 340 of those deaths have been in the Coachella Valley, which is 28.59% of the County’s total. 308 deaths in cities, 32 deaths in unincorporated areas…9 in Mecca,  1 in Vista Santa Rosa, 3 in Bermuda Dunes, 4 in Garnet, 3 in Desert Palms, 5 in Desert Edge, 4 in Oasis, 2 in Sky Valley and 1 in North Shore.

 

Of the 1,189 people who have died from Covid-19 in Riverside County, 828 of them have been over 64; 300 have been between 45 and 64.

 

14,427 positive cases have been recorded in the Coachella Valley since March 8th 2020, when the testing and counting began. 94.60% of them, 13,648 people, have recovered. Only 779 active cases in the desert on 9/26/2020.

 

1,924 cases are in unincorporated areas of the desert since March 2020.

(Mecca 446 cases, Thermal 181 cases, Oasis 332 cases,  North Shore 129 cases, Bermuda Dunes 135 cases, Thousand Palms 226 cases, Vista Santa Rosa 99 cases, Garnet 218 cases, Desert Palms 43 cases, Desert Edge 66 cases, and Sky Valley 49 cases)

 

94.28%, or 1,814 people have recovered from Covid-19 in unincorporated areas:

Only 110 active cases of Covid-19 in unincorporated areas as of 9/26/2020.

There are no deaths from Covid-19 for anyone from newborn to age 17.

deaths among people aged 18-24.

55 deaths among people aged 25-44

300 deaths among people aged 45-64

563 deaths among people aged 64-84

265 deaths among people aged 85 and up.

 

700 deaths are men, 485 are women, and 0 are transgender, non-binary or intersex according to county officials

 

Riverside County has 3,396 cases in nursing homes, with 2,097 cases among patients, and 1,299 cases among staff. The overwhelming majority of nursing home cases, 921 cases, are in the City of Riverside.

In Coachella Valley nursing facilities, there have been 192 cases in Palm Desert, 138 in Palm Springs, 77 in Rancho Mirage, 57 in Indio, 53 in La Quinta,

 

 

Riverside County is no longer providing capacity statistics for the hospitals in the county.

 

 

The federal temporary hospitals built at the County Fairgrounds in Indio and the old Sears Store in Riverside months ago, are still equipped and ready to be used.   They are not currently being used because they are not needed at this time.   They are not staffed right now because there are no patients there.

 

If they are needed, they can quickly be staffed and put into operation.

 

 

All testing is free to the patient being tested. Be patient, you might have to wait awhile to get an appointment.

Drive-thru testing is available by appointment only at the Riverside County Fairgrounds in Indio  from 9 a-m to 3 p-m Tuesday through Saturday, by appt only. You can also get tested at the Cathedral City Library on Date Palm Drive. Rite Aid is expanding its COVID-19 testing capacity across California too.

 

Testing will be available by appointment for people 18 years of age or older, regardless of whether the person is experiencing symptoms, according to Rite Aid. Results are expected in three to five days, a company spokesperson said.

 

The Riverside County locations providing testing starting Thursday July 16th 2020 are:

The sites will utilize self-swab nasal tests overseen by Rite Aid pharmacists, and will operate weekdays from 10 a.m to 8 p.m., and weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
