Coachella & Stagecoach Canceled For 2020

The Coachella Valley is taking another economic hit, as the 2020  Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals have been canceled. Both were scheduled in April of 2020 but were postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. New dates were set for October of 2020.

Both events have been canceled by Riverside County Public Health Officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser, who says he has concerns about growing indications Covid-19 could worsen in the fall.

CoachellaFest and Stagecoach would only be allowed in Stage 4 of California’s reopening plan, and Governor Gavin Newsom has said that Stage 4 reopenings would be allowed when there are treatments or a vaccine for Covid-19.

Dr. Kaiser says his first priority is the health of the community. Kaiser and Riverside County Supervisor Manuel Perez met with Indio officials and concert promoter Goldenvoice before deciding to cancel the events.
