Property taxes are on the rise in California, keeping pace with the increase in property values.
The California State Board of Equalization has released its annual report for 2020 -2021.
Total statewide county-assessed property value is more than 7 trillion dollars.
Property taxes paid on all that property total 79.9 billion dollars, a 6% increase from the year before.
The Board of Equalization says California is transitioning away from the disruptions of the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, keep in mind the California Legislature has kept the Covid-19 emergency declaration in place indefinitely due to covid variants still floating around.
