The Triple-A Auto Club reports  the national average price for regular gasoline is $3.74 a gallon.

Here in California look to pay 2 dollars a gallon more than that, with desert prices hovering between 5.50  and 5.75 per gallon.

You’ll pay close to 6 dollars per gallon in L-A and San Francisco, so avoid any road trips there if you are trying to be frugal.
