California has tested 20,342,072 of its 40 million people for the Covid-19 virus, since March 2020.  That’s 50.85% of the population.


19,657,928 people still need to be tested in California, that’s 49.14% of the state’s population.


4.87% of the people tested for Covid-19 in California have tested positive. That’s 991,609 people.


95.12% of the people tested for Covid-19 in California have tested negative.  That’s 19,350,463 people.


California has 18,108 deaths from Covid-19, which is 1.82% of those who have tested positive.


California hospitals report 4/10th’s of 1% of the people who have tested positive, are hospitalized, which is 4,002 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the hospitals. 1,010 of those patients are in ICU.




On Friday November 13th 2020, Riverside County remains in the California’s most restrictive Purple Tier, for Widespread risk of Covid-19 transmission.


Riverside County has tested 911,258 people for Covid-19 since March 2020, out of a population of 2.5 million.  That’s 36.45% of the County’s population.



1,588,742 people still need to be tested in the county, that’s 63.54% of the county’s population.


8.07% of the people tested for Covid-19 in Riverside County have tested positive. That’s 73,541 people.


91.92% of the people tested for Covid-19 in Riverside County have tested negative.  That’s 837,717 people.


Of the 73,541 people who have tested positive in Riverside County,

87.29% of them, 64,200 have fully recovered.

10.49% of them, 7,715 are at home recovering. Together, that’s 97.78% of all the positive cases.  545 new cases in the past 24 hours.


3/10th’s of 1%, of the people who have tested positive so far in Riverside County, 271 people, remain hospitalized, and 67  of them are in Intensive Care.


1.84% of the people who have tested positive so far in Riverside County, 1,355 people, have died from Covid-19. 385 of those deaths have been in the Coachella Valley, which is 28.41% of the County’s total. 347 deaths in cities, 38 deaths in unincorporated areas…10 in Mecca,  1 in Vista Santa Rosa, 3 in Bermuda Dunes, 5 in Garnet, 3 in Desert Palms, 5 in Desert Edge, 5 in Oasis, 1 in Thousand Palms, 2 in Sky Valley, 2 in Thermal,  and 1 in North Shore.


Of the 1,355 people who have died from Covid-19 in Riverside County, 939 of them have been over 65; 348 have been between 45 and 64.


17,075 positive cases have been recorded in the Coachella Valley since March 8th 2020, when the testing and counting began. 90.02% of them, 15,371  people, have recovered. There are 1,704 active cases in the desert on 11/13/2020.


2,304 cases are in unincorporated areas of the desert since March 2020.

(Mecca 517 cases, Thermal 208 cases, Oasis 384 cases,  North Shore 182 cases, Bermuda Dunes 164 cases, Thousand Palms 279 cases, Vista Santa Rosa 110 cases, Garnet 262 cases, Desert Palms 60 cases, Desert Edge 83 cases, and Sky Valley 55 cases).

88.97%, or 2,050 people have recovered from Covid-19 in unincorporated areas:

802 deaths are men, 547 are women, and 0 are transgender, non-binary or intersex according to county officials.


Riverside County has 3,559 cases in nursing homes, with 2,200 cases among patients, and 1,359 cases among staff. The overwhelming majority of nursing home cases, 957 cases, are in the City of Riverside.

In Coachella Valley nursing facilities, there have been 192 cases in Palm Desert, 175 in Palm Springs, 77 in Rancho Mirage, 58 in Indio, 53 in La Quinta,

Rite Aid is doing Covid-19 testing by appointment for people 18 years of age or older, regardless of whether the person is experiencing symptoms. Results are expected in three to five days.


The Coachella Valley locations providing testing starting Thursday July 16th 2020 are:


 12900 Palm Drive, Desert Hot Springs;

— 51101 Cesar Chavez St., Coachella;

— 47985 Monroe St., Building A, Indio; 


The sites will utilize self-swab nasal tests overseen by Rite Aid pharmacists, and will operate weekdays from 10 a.m to 8 p.m., and weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
