‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ Screenwriter Sues, Says He Hasn’t Seen A Dime From The Movie
The screenwriter of the 2018 Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody is suing the producers, claiming he has yet to see a dime from the film. Writer Anthony
McCarten says he made a deal for 5% of the movie’s net proceeds – not a bad deal, considering it made over $900 million worldwide at the box office.
But McCarten says that 20th Century Fox is trying to claim the movie *lost* money – with accounting statements showing it $52 million in the red. That means they don’t have to pay McCarten his five percent.
