“Alison, can you explain what Internet is?” (cue in video to 1:12)

The now infamous quote from Katie Couric from 1995 when the hosts from the Today Show were trying to put their minds around the concept.  Although the World Wide Web was invented in 1989 by English Engineer and Computer Scientist Tim Berners-Lee, it’s practical applications were just spilling into the wider culture by the mid-90s.
