After 5 Months Of Covid-19 Pandemic, Riverside County Has Tested 15% Of Its Population

It has tested 121,017 in the past 24 hours.

93.74% of the people tested for Covid-19 in California have tested negative. That’s 7,786,286 people.
6.25% of the people tested for Covid-19 in California have tested positive. That’s 519,427 people.
California has 9,501 deaths from Covid-19, which is 1.82% of those who have tested positive.
California hospitals report 1.21% of the people who have tested positive, are hospitalized, which is 6,302 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the hospitals. 1,892 of those patients are in ICU. The State also reports having another 1,328 “Suspected Covid-19” patients.

Riverside County has 2,683 cases in nursing homes, with 1,623 cases among patients, and 1,060 cases among staff. The overwhelming majority of nursing home cases, 800 cases, are in the City of Riverside.
In Coachella Valley nursing facilities, there have been 188 cases in Palm Desert, 125 in Palm Springs, 51 in Indio, 50 in La Quinta, 46 in Rancho Mirage.
Riverside County is no longer providing capacity statistics for the hospitals in the county.
The federal temporary hospitals built at the County Fairgrounds in Indio and the old Sears Store in Riverside months ago, are still equipped and ready to be used. They are not currently being used because they are not needed at this time. They are not staffed right now because there are no patients there.
If they are needed, they can quickly be staffed and put into operation.
All testing is free to the patient being tested. Be patient, you might have to wait a while to get an appointment.
Drive-thru testing is available by appointment only at the Riverside County Fairgrounds in Indio from 9 a-m to 3 p-m Tuesday through Saturday, by appt only. You can also get tested at the Cathedral City Library on Date Palm Drive. Rite Aid is expanding its COVID-19 testing capacity across California too.
Testing will be available by appointment for people 18 years of age or older, regardless of whether the person is experiencing symptoms, according to Rite Aid. Results are expected in three to five days, a company spokesperson said.
